The NYPD and the Parks Department are eager to start installing cameras in parks and playgrounds to fight crime.
Not to be outdone, the cops in Mordor have gone to live monitoring of cameras to, according from the article “respond faster to shootings, robberies and other offenses and catch suspects before they get away.” Notice that there is not much here about prevention. The cops are there to clean up the mess.
Instead of installing cameras, I would recommend the repeal of all gun laws in Washington (and NYC). Oh, and while we’re at it, let the mere taxpayers have AA-12s.
