Dear Friends:

An alarmed pal called at 1:00am: "Lew Rockwell is being attacked by one of those professional defamation groups!"

"Oh, brother. This is just what we need."

"Why are they singling Lew out?" my friend asked.

"Because Lew drives them crazy and they would love to silence him."

LewRockwell.com, our libertarian daily newspaper on the web, now has more readers a month than the print versions of National Review or the New Republic or the Weekly Standard!

Our ideas reach more people than those famous neocon magazines which have been around for decades and funded with millions. And we're less than a year old!

Although I only got online recently myself, I know that the internet is the key to reaching people these days, especially young people. When they read LewRockwell.com, they love it, and pass the word. You should see the email Lew gets. They're a fresh, new crowd. These folks, young and old, are inspired. And that is what scares the heck out of the anti-this, anti-that crowd.

Six days a week on the web, Lew spreads our ideas — with intelligence and passion and humor. He has readers all over the country and the world. It's like a daily Rothbard-Rockwell Report, with a hundred times the circulation. And we've just begun!

As you know, Lew brings us brave and truth-telling articles about government spies, war crimes, heroes of the Old Right, UN armies, racial scams, the war on men, campus speech controls, immigration, Waco, TWA 800, Oklahoma City, the real history of America, the enemies of freedom, the truth about politics, the nature of the state, and a hundred other topics, including defenses of traditional culture. Plus we have classic Rothbard! There's nothing else like it on the web.

Ron Paul and I look at LewRockwell.com the first thing every morning, and we're joined by a huge and growing number of libertarians, conservatives, and plain concerned Americans.

Let me tell you more about who's attacking Lew. This secretive and wealthy private espionage bureau smears everyone to the right of Bill Buckley and Bill Kristol. Their purpose: to suppress and even outlaw our political views. We know their views: one-world socialism, no guns (for us), no free speech (for us), no free press (for us), the end of America, and burning hatred of Western civilization and religion.

They use guilt by association, half-truths, and full-lies. Naturally, the big media love them, and so do the feds. To be targeted by them is thus a very serious business. Though they have their funny aspects. Outside their palatial offices is a black marble fountain that credits the plagiarist Martin Luther King with the words of the Prophet Isaiah. One unfunny aspect: they get federal funds, like everything else evil in the country.

And Lew is definitely in their crosshairs. In their latest libelogram, they demonize him as a "neo-Confederate" and subversive who must be silenced.

Basically, they accuse him of being a thought criminal. After all, he doesn't like Lincoln or Lincoln's war, Wilson or Wilson's war, Roosevelt or Roosevelt's war. He hates socialism and loves capitalism. He defends free association instead of "civil rights." He thinks the feds are a band of thieves.

So they call this enemy of state power a "neo-fascist"! This is in ancient Marxist tradition, of course — they call all their right-wing opponents "fascists," but it's still an outrage.

"Look," I told Lew, "being besmirched by these commies is actually a credential. Don't forget, they hated Murray too. In a way, you should be proud. It's a measure of the quality of what you're doing."

I didn't mention this to Lew, but privately I'm a bit concerned. These ghouls are a powerful and well-connected cabal, and I expect more slanders. But Lew is not about to roll over and play dead, and neither am I. I know I can count on you to stand with us, as you always do.

Let me tell you how we can fight these creeps: We can go on the offensive, expand our site, and advertise LewRockwell.com to get more readers and spread our ideas even further.
