Today's "Christian Science Monitor" has a news story indicating that, by the end of 2005, the costs of the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan will "almost certainly surpass $200 billion." I believe it was the year 1962 when President Kennedy submitted to Congress a proposed budget of $99.9 billion, because he did not want to become the first president to have a $100 billion budget.
