Writes Jack Douglas:
I was just reading Jesse Ventura's new book on AMERICAN CONSPIRACIES and he has a very good summing up of the heavy involvement of the CIA, US pols, et al. in the huge drug trafficking and payoffs. He has some info. on the Reagan Contra drug smuggling and the CIA Nugan-Hand banking system for laundering their drug money that I did not know about. He had direct experience as a top secret Seal in Vietnamese war crimes, probably in a Death Squad, which he cannot talk about. But he learned from the ground up about the CIA and drugs. When he became Gov. of Minn., the CIA secretly set up a meeting with him and about 25 CIA 'assets' in the state house basement. He learned that all states have CIA agents at the top as observers, etc., and has no idea what they do other than reporting to Langley. He's seen enough himself and studied the known facts to see that they have built a vast, totalitarian secret police state. He says American democ. is hanging on by a thread. I think it's even robust at many local levels, but total illusion at the top.
UPDATE from Ken Harwood:
Alarming -- though not surprising -- to me, but not to reporters on the CIA beat. See WAPO:
"The main function of the domestic division, which has stations in many major U.S. cities, is to conduct voluntary debriefings of U.S. citizens who travel overseas for work or to visit relatives, and to recruit foreign students, diplomats and businesspeople to become CIA assets when they return to their countries."
This is what the CIA admits to. Domestic division's more "sensitive" mission I can only imagine.
