I never have known what to think about George Soros. Here is a refugee from communism who made wads of money in a capitalist system, but now uses his money to promote socialism and an authoritarian state. Yes, he was popular with some libertarians after he spoke out against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I don't see his anti-war fervor being so intense now that his chosen president is running the show, and I cannot help but wonder if his anti-war views simply were another form of partisan politics.
I am convinced of one thing, however. Jim Rogers's old partner, Soros, wants my family and me to live in a totalitarian state run by the Moveon dictatorship. He has no interest in freedom, and he certainly is not going to support a state that would leave us alone. No, Soros has taken his billions and spent them to make sure that no one else will be able to make the kind of money he did, or at least won't be able to do it without being tied to a repressive state. To be honest, I have no idea why libertarians were so attracted to him in the first place. (I only wish that Rogers had been able to influence the man about freedom, as Rogers seems to have some sound views on that subject.)
