Writes Thomas Bivens:
Last Friday Tom Woods did what citizens of the 12th District of North Carolina have failed to do for more than two decades: Silence Mel Watt. The fact that Mel Watt supports the Federal Agenda is no surprise. His very existence is owed to the current system. He is from a Gerrymandered district and is a former leader of the Congressional Black (Socialist) Caucus. His voting record is horrid: he voted against more regulation of Fannie and Freddie, for the bailouts, for the wars, for sanctions against Iran (because Iranian children are less than human), supports Israel unequivocally, etc. Let's not forget the Ralph Nader incident, where he called Nader—as if it were a refutation—"an arrogant white man."
That last part of the hearing, where Watt was present, but said nothing: It was almost like you forgot he was there. Auditing the Fed. Mel Watt shutting up. Words cannot express the collective joy of my district. Thank you, Tom Woods! North Carolina's 12th District owes you a great deal.
