Forgive me if you've seen this story already, but I missed it when it ran a week ago. When I saw the headline just now I assumed it was a parody.  Now they want to pay you for buying a refrigerator.  "These rebates will help families make the transition to more efficient appliances, making purchases that will directly stimulate the economy," Energy Secretary Steven Chu said.  Oh.  (Thanks to F.S.)
