On Wednesday, September 9, 2009, I'll be speaking at the Economic Liberty Lecture Series held jointly by the Future of Freedom Foundation and the GMU Economics Club. There will be pizza at 5:30pm, I'll talk at 6:00pm, and then there will be a great antistate movie, Sophie Scholl. We'll meet in the Student Union 2, Room 5, a little before 5:30pm, and FFF CEO Jacob Hornberger has graciously allowed me to invite LRC readers as well.
UPDATE from Butler Shaffer:
For a a birthday present some time back, [my wife] Jane went to a jeweler and had them make a small lapel pin (beautiful) in the shape of a white rose. I wear this quite often, with students and colleagues inquiring as to its meaning. “Well, interesting you should ask,” I respond, as I acquaint them with the “White Rose Society,” and invite them to rent – and watch – the Sophie Scholl film for some insights as to where this country may be headed.
