Karen, your mention of Ed Begley, Jr., and his enviro-cars reminded me of his appearance on The Simpsons, as related to me by a coworker and confirmed here. When Marge asked him if he was going to ride along on a protest bus to “save the trees,” Begley replied, “I prefer a vehicle that doesn’t hurt Mother Earth. It’s a go-cart, powered by my own sense of self-satisfaction.” That seems like a pretty accurate description of the Obamobiles that GM and Chrysler will soon be churning out.
