The Libertarian Party announces: "America's third largest party urged the White House Wednesday to more closely monitor crossings at the United States’ border with Mexico, and keep out persons infected with 'swine flu.'
"'The Libertarian Party Platform is clear, Libertarians support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property,' said Donny Ferguson, Libertarian National Committee Communications Director."
I know libertarians disagree among each other somewhat on immigration, but there's something troubling about the LP focusing on this and asking for Obama to be more statist in an area than he already is. No? You allow one area for more government power, and it's inevitable that some libertarians will emphasize it so as to sound no more fundamentally anti-state than anyone else.
