This is a great bit on the Daily Show, ripping apart the conservatives for their hypocritical posturing and sudden adoption of libertarian rhetoric. Stewart is wrong to implicitly lump Judge Napolitano in with the partisans. He is right that the right's fear of "tyranny" is quite a contrast to its championing of the power-hungry Bush regime, but he is wrong that democratically elected Obama (or, for that matter, Bush) is not tyrannical by virtue of being elected. But perhaps his ironic statement that democracy is supposed to be painful for the minority reveals some increasing understanding in the system.
I'll keep watching him, as he is clearly better than most the left these days, and I'll be eager to see if he continues to criticize Obama, or even step it up.
