Whether or not Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina is standing principle or politics, nonetheless his recent statements against the "stimulus" have been good. Of course, anyone taking a principled stand against the federal government's "stimulus" is going to be viciously attacked, and the catcalls are raining down.
Not surprisingly, one of the loudest critics is Gov. Martin O'Malley of Maryland, who has helped create a terrible fiscal crisis in that state. O'Malley claims that he is about "jobs, jobs, jobs," and since everyone knows the "stimulus" will "create jobs," anyone who is against such action is an enemy of the people.
