I remember in the mid 60’s, in both Vietnam and the Philippines, the Army medical corps would examine the local prostitutes for STD and issue a card when they checked out clean. The card was usually proudly displayed on the prostitute’s clothing. Of course, there was no way of knowing how many customers they had been with by the time a soldier, usually in an inebriated state, met them.
