Now Lew, stop making fun of Detroit. There's a very positive upside to this: the rush-hour traffic to/from work is very much traffic-free (try that in Atlanta!); the shopping malls and grocery stores are clear on a Saturday afternoon; housing is so very cheap, and in fact you can homestead the empty ones and no one will know for years; and there are no lines in Starbucks at 8am weekdays.

On the serious side, this news clip about an east-side Detroit neighborhood is a staggering sight to behold.
