Private Medical Care in El Salvador

Writes Jim Dunlap:

My wife and son have both had severe colds and sinus problems. I called the doctor's office and the receptionist, the doctor's only employee, made an appointment for 5:30 PM the same day. On the way to the doctor's office, in the middle of the wild San Salvador rush hour, my cell phone rang. It was the receptionist calling to tell me that the doctor had to tend to an emergency. Could I reschedule? I made the appointment for the same time, next day. By the way, the doctor hands out his business card with his office, cell, and home phone numbers on it.
