Burt Blumert calls Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich “the Serbian Stallone.” I must say I like the guy’s style too, and all the trouble he’s caused. It’s so much fun to see the media freaking out, and all the pols blaming Blag for staining their spotless profession. And now the Gov has named to the senate Roland Burris, a double (as Burt notes) for the poor Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright. (Burt: “Have you ever seen them together?”) This appointment is, of course, a pure Chicago Machine operation and even more trouble for the regime. Wonderful. But we still need to know: Why did the feds single out Blag? Whose powerful toes did he step on? And even more interesting: whose toes were they trying to save by stopping their spying prematurely?
