Pretty good statement. I guess Goldman didn’t think he was worth a payoff.

Please don’t give Gingrich that much credit for opposing the bailout. After complaining of the “un-American” way in which Paulson forced the plan on the American people and calling for his resignation, Gingrich does the following as evidenced in the 2nd to last paragraph in the story:“Gingrich, who made his remarks on the “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” roundtable, conceded that he would probably vote for the plan if he were still in the U.S. House because Congress was left with little choice.”
So, according to Mr. Republican, there is no choice but to socialize. So much for strident opposition to the plan.
