As everyone around here knows, Jim, I hate the Republicans as much as anyone, and even more than I hate the Democrats. And I don’t trust the motives of any of them (Ron Paul doesn’t count, of course). But if they were to really stave this off, if they for the first time in half a century or so really stand up against the total state, economic fascism and corporate socialism, I will cheer them and look more kindly upon them than I have since I was in high school and first became disillusioned with this gang of murderous clowns and invincibly wicked phonies.

Kill the bailout, guys. Or make the Dems really fight for this power grab. Don’t buckle. And I’ll hate you a little less. (Bush and the many other Bushies excluded, of course.)

Update: Oh, and I won’t ever be rooting, even with qualifications, for McCain. He’s far worse than most Republicans.
