When we were boys, we played with erector sets. They are still sold.
Many politicians and economist wannabes are infantile. They think they can construct a banking system the same way as building a ferris wheel with an erector set. They have never grown up.
Unfortunately, most people are also not trained to think ahead to the effects of the political actions that have economic effects (it's the unseen versus the seen.) They compound their ignorance by trusting that their leaders have this foresight. The blind lead the blind.
When most of us cannot think and see ahead, the way we progress is through trial and error. Again, unfortunately, past trials go down the memory hole. And we have to contend with those deceivers who intentionally flush them down and fog everyone else up.
Having constructed a fragile money and banking system and then taken steps to pile weight upon it that it could not bear, our leaders are now running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to find ways to prop it up again now that it has sagged and virtually collapsed. They intend to steal logs and beams (capital) from the remaining sound structures. If they keep this up much longer, they will weaken everything in sight as society's capital falls into the government sinkhole.
