So the Cato-nistas believe that the same politicians who enacted and enforced the D.C gun ban will now implement "sensible" gun regulations? As Cato icon Milton Friedman wrote in his classic, Free to Choose (with wife Rose), government regulations that are in "the public interest" (i.e., sensible) are as likely as a barking cat. Living and working in D.C. seems to cause some people to become ignorant of how politics works.
In reality, the D.C. politicians will be as busy as bees piling on regulation after regulation in order to achieve a de facto gun ban, or something very close to it.
Putting your unalienable right to life in the hands of the most corrupt politicians in the land (or any politicians) is "good for the Constitution," says this Cato writer. And the Cato-nistas complain about leftist judges who try to rewrite the Constitution!
