Big Dig Could Bankrupt Taxachusetts

The third harbor tunnel, a corrupt construction project even by Massaschusetts standard, could end up bankrupting that state government. Talk about a silver lining in a dark cloud! Repudiate the debt. That is the only solution, and what a great one it would be. The people being taxed for the debt did not agree to it, nor did they benefit from it. Repudiate and cut taxes, in the great 19th century tradition. But won’t the state government have trouble borrowing money in the future? That could be the greatest benefit. Pay as you go, pols, pay as you go. (Thanks to Charles Everett.)
