Barr holds his ground on civil liberties in his interview by pro-war libertine conservative Dennis Miller. Of course, Miller is completely sold by the anti-”Islamofascist” propaganda and defends the 21st-century totalitarian version of unitary executive theory. He also seems to hate the Supreme Court’s recent pro-habeas corpus decision. Barr is not perfect on these issues: He is somewhat soft on FISA, the surveillance state and the military system generally, but he sounds like the embodiment of libertarianism compared to “libertarian” Dennis Miller.
Perhaps best of all, when asked if he’d pull out of the election if his staying in would mean an Obama victory, Barr says, “absolutely not.”
