George II Is George III

Actually not. Poor, mentally ill George III was far less of a tyrant. But the British in those doays stored political and other prisoners in "prison hulks," floating horrors. The practice was a source of outrage for colonial Americans. Now it turns out that George II, our democratic king, is storing POWs in prison ships too. But he has added a refinement. These POWs are held in secret, so that their parents and wives and children do not know whether they are alive or dead. They are also subject to "intense interrogation techniques," or torture, as McCain calls it when it applies to him.

How apathetic can the Americans of today be? Don't they realize that, in this once free country, they can be next? (Thanks to James Lloyd for the URL.)
