Obama calls Israel one of "our strongest allies." What does that mean exactly? We give them $3 billion a year. They can't supply any troops for the Iraq war we are fighting on their behalf (Bush said that, not me, the "behalf" part). They spy on us. As many as a billion people on earth get annoyed by US support for their policies re Palestine. With friends like that...
Also, when the various candidates say they will respond to an attack on Israel by going to war, where is the legal authority for that? I know that's a quaint, naive question. Ron Paul said in this context only Congress can declare war. Is there a treaty that obligates the US to defend Israel?
I like this new approach of asking questions instead of answering them. (Still no evidence of an accurate prediction on global warming.)
