Is Bob Barr Going to Run as a Libertarian?

In an interview with Scott Horton on Wednesday, Barr said he takes the encouragement for him to run “very seriously, and [thinks] it also reflects a great deal of dissatisfaction with the current candidates and the current two-party system.” And so he is taking the idea “very seriously.”

Wow, what an interesting convention this should be! And I think the Ron Paul Revolution might rejuvenate the LP, even if it has been largely rejected by the GOP establishment. As Barr says, “Ron Paul tapped into a great deal of. . . dissatisfaction and. . . awareness” about the troubling status quo, but “unfortunately, working through the Republican party structure, it became impossible for him to really move forward with his movement.”

Oh, and speaking of the LP Convention, I will be there giving two talks, on the main floor about the importance of principle and in a breakout room, probably on libertarian reform proposals.
