Al Copeland:RIP

Many of you may not be familiar with Al Copeland, but, if you are lucky, you are familiar with his creation: Popeye's Chicken. Copeland's decision to put the profits from his donut shop into a fried chicken restaurant to compete with Kentucky Fried Chicken, and his idea to try to compete by selling a spicier, "cajun" flavor of fried chicken, exemplify the best features of the market economy. By creating Popeye's, Copeland brought more happiness to more Americans than most politicians.
