The largest building in the entire country, visible from any rooftop in the Kathmandu Valley, is the US Embassy. It is a brand new multi-million dollar structure still under construction. The average Nepalese smiles and says, why should we be so honored? They go on to point to China, just on the other side of the Himalayan range. And of course, Tibet lies between Nepal and China."
