There is supposed to be a vote this week on the McCain-DeMint One Year Moratorium on Earmarking. I can not find the text of this amendment (anyone?), so I don’t really know what it says, but it is co-sponsored by McCain, Clinton, and Obama, so I am skeptical.

I was alerted to this through Ron Paul supporters, so it seems clear that most people are confused about earmarks: getting rid of (or suspending) earmarks does not save money. This has been discussed on this site many times.
