Megan McArdle blows past David Frum and Tyler Cowen for the win:
Much of his persona, sincere or not, seems to boil down to “Foreigners are scary, and people who like foreigners are plotting to take your stuff.”
Yes, that’s right: this is how Miss McArdle describes the one Republican candidate who opposes preemptive war; who urges that we should talk to and freely trade with all nations, even Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran. Whether this is the product of inexcusable ignorance or deliberate disingenuousness, I will leave to you. Either way, The Atlantic, which once published greats such as Albert Jay Nock, should be embarrassed.
