If You Don’t Give Money to the Huckster, Chuck Norris Will Break Your Legs

From Wired:

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s campaign supporters ripped a page out of rival candidate Ron Paul supporters’ playbook Monday evening when they threw up a fundraising site pegged to the theme of “Freedom.”

The designated one-day fundraising bonanza is scheduled for December 27th, which supporters have dubbed “Freedom Lives Day.”

What’s interesting is that Huckabee and his now-ubiquitous sidekick Chuck Norris just appeared on Larry King Live. The segment ended with Norris urging King’s millions of viewers to visit Huckbee’s web site to check the candidate out for themselves.

This is an effort that is obviously extremely well co-ordinated, and which is literally fighting to pull itself up by its fundraising bootstraps to maintain its relevancy beyond Iowa.

Only 186 pledges for $50,000, $286 per person — alomost 2.5 times the per capita donor amount of Paul’s December 16th MoneyBomb.
