Frankly, I think this is just a reaction to the mediocrity of the crew denominated by the media as frontrunners--Rudy, McCain, Romney and Thompson. As in 2000 with McCain, he's the media's favorite Republican.

This too shall pass as voters actually learn that he's a "pro-life liberal." (But, pro-war and pro-death penalty.)
