Oh no! Many new, enthusiastic, young people attend GOP meetings on behalf of their candidate. How disturbing! Much better that the meetings continue to look like bingo night at the old folks home, complete with cobwebs.

And thanks to Roger McCaffrey, who reminds me that at this point in 1963, Nelson Rockefeller was way ahead of Barry Goldwater in the polls. And I was a 19-year-old red hot storming the GOP myself.

This time, however, our man is for peace as well as much smaller government, we've suffered through more than four additional decades of imperialism and socialism, and we're part of a genuine non-violent revolution in America and the world.

The 20th century was an era of world war, totalitarianism, death camps, and every horror imaginable. The skulls of people murdered in various government endeavors were stacked perhaps 200 million high. God rest their souls.
