Conventional wisdom

Beware the conventional wisdom. It says that you must do well in either Iowa or New Hampshire to stay in the race. While I expect Ron Paul to do well in both states, I question that logic. That certainly applies to candidates who have no core support or reliable funding and who wish to feed off a media frenzy from wins in early states.

But Ron Paul is different. He already has armies in each state and he has the ability to raise enough money to fight to the finish.

I was just watching Wilberforce condemn the slave trade in Parliament. And pondering the American Revolution’s early defeats. What if they had thrown in the towel after early defeats?

Here’s the numbers of delegates selected on or by certain dates:

Feb. 1–232
Feb. 5–1,081
Feb. 9–126
Feb. 12–119
Mar. 4–265
May 6–126

The media will try to declare the race over by February 1st. Simple math says it will have just begun.
