"The Swamp" may be a perfect location from which Mr. Malcolm to work. I've always regarded a swamp as a backwater area infested with insects. Wikipedia defines the word, in part, as an "inundation of large areas of land by shallow bodies of water," that "were generally seen as useless and even dangerous."
