If the Democrats are the "New Stupid Party," it is partly because the Republicans have gone from stupid to evil. Listening to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell today on NPR was absolutely sickening.

Said McConnell about the Iraq War: "We don't want to precipitously to withdraw overseas and invite the terrorists back onto U.S. soil. We need to be in that area over a lengthy period of time to be able to go after al-Qaida and to be able to provide a not-so-subtle reminder to the Iranians."

Lie #1: We need to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. None of the terrorists who came over here on 9/11 were from Iraq.
Lie #2: 9/11=Al-Qaida=Iraq. Al-Qaida was not connected with Iraq until after we invaded Iraq and, by our actions, invited them in.
Lie #3: We need to remind the Iranians about U.S. military force. The Iranians know all about it. They want nukes to protect themselves from a rogue state--the USA.

And what does McConnell mean by a "lengthy period of time"? He pointed to the U.S. deployment in South Korea.

McConnell is evil. The Republican leadership is evil. The Republican Party is evil. Not the lesser of two evils--pure evil.
