Everything You Need to Know About Huckabee in One Sentence

From an article in the September 10 issue of The American Conservative by Michael Brendan Dougherty called “Running for Life Coach”: “The primary accomplishment [Huckabee] touts in his stump speech is ARKids First, a state-run health insurance program for children and a prototype of S-CHIP.” Now there’s a free-market conservative for you!

By the way, there’s also a piece on the return of the Latin Mass by our own Tom Woods in this issue. As a Protestant, I have no dog in this fight, but I am sympathetic to traditionalists. Regardless, I have to give Tom credit for a great zinger at the end. Referring to Bishop Donald Trautman, who is very much opposed to permitting the Latin Mass in any way, shape, or form, he writes:

I am overjoyed, indeed delighted beyond words, that I have lived to see the return of the Church’s traditional liturgy. But I am even more overjoyed that Bishop Trautman has lived to see it.

Ouch.
