Writes Jim Waddell: “He certainly looked like a fool on video, but I suspect he is not. I believe he was intentionally trying to get a reaction from the Paul supporters. If a fight had broken out, there would have been lots of ways to spin it. The media would surely jump at the chance to again portray Paul supporters as dangerous kooks. Thankfully, the man miscalculated, peace prevailed, and the stunt backfired on him.

“Unfortunately, it wouldn’t surprise me if we see this type of thing again. I believe the ‘major’ candidates are finally realizing that the Paul phenomenon is real. Anything they can do, including trying to provoke Paul supporters into violence, will be on the table. We all have to be on our guard and be sure not to respond in kind to bad behavior on the part of others.”
