Billy Kristol was almost as funny last night on The Daily Show with John Stewart as the comedian with the same name, spelled a little differently.

“Invading Iran is a good idea,” he said.

And, the Democratic takeover of Congress was NOT a repudiation of the war in Iraq but a confirmation of America’s widespread SUPPORT for the war. You see, Americans were sending the message that “Bush and Rumsfeld have mismanaged the war.” Americans are all for the war, Kristol insinuated, they just want it to be better managed.

And, after an eight-day Potemkin Village visit to Iraq Kristol declared that the “Surge” is a success and things are looking up in Iraq, finally.

If America has not become a society of morons, Kristol clearly thinks we have.
