Nation-State Follies?

Writes Mike Martin about this post: “I think it’s great that Russia is trying to claim the North Pole and begin exploiting resources. Seems to me that is a vast improvement over the current state of international law that says nobody owns the North Pole or Antarctica, and therefore, nothing will ever be done with them. Isn’t it much more likely for a system of private property rights to develop when the property is held by a single national government than by the collective governments of the world?”
