I received an e-mail from a man who was troubled by my earlier blog about "parents with their superficial 'love' for their children" who do not protect their children from the war system. "Yikes," he wrote. "That statement is a bit harsh." I responded that my words were "intended to be 'harsh,' a lot less troublesome, however, than having your child come home, in pieces, in a flag-draped coffin. Parents who worry that some pervert might be hanging around school-yards with candy-bars, but then celebrate their child going off to war to fight for the glory and the interests of the corporate-state, are most troublesome."
