Little Sense on the Prairie

The city of Hastings, Nebraska, has warned its residents that it will vigorously enforce an ordinance making it unlawful to leave indoor furniture out-of-doors (e.g., on porches or in yards). The city defends its foolishness on the grounds that an International Property Maintenance Code prohibits such practices.

I wonder if the town rulers will now busy themselves with the more troublesome problem: people who bring outdoor furniture into their homes?
