Al ‘Godfather’ Gore

With apologies to Vito Corleone, it seems that Al Gore is outdoing the Godfather in obtaining great wealth. You might remember that Corleone became wealthy by providing gambling and other services (as well as legal olive oil) that the state had outlawed. However, in order for Vito and his organization to make any money, he and his friends actually had to provide the services, as the government did not pay for them.

With Gore, however, not only has he openly called for violence against his competitors (a la the Godfather), but it also seems that much of his great wealth is coming from the taxpayers. This is the ultimate insult. Not only is Gore becoming rich off our backs, but he also is front-and-center in pushing policies that will make our lives much more difficult and make the rest of us much poorer. At lease Vito Corleone did not make his fellow New Yorkers worse off (except those who wore cement booties to the bottom of the East River).
