Why all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the ridiculous Sotomayor and the Senate’s ridiculous hearings? How is she any worse than the rest of them? Indeed, the Supreme Court was tyrannical in conception, as Brutus argued at the time.

Of course the Supreme Court is “tyrannical in conception.” The very word “supreme” implies that there is no higher authority. Think “Supreme Soviet” and it will all fall into place!

Once again you have lifted the fog of the government school system from my eyes. It seems that rather than the three branches of the government being checks on one another, they are actually three heads providing sustenance to the same monster. None would seriously impede the others at the risk of imperiling itself.
