AIG should have been allowed to go bankrupt; the executives would then get zero salaries and bonuses, for those who think that--rather than the Fed--is the key problem. But isn't it a bit rich for Senator Chuck Grassley (R-ag subsidies) to propose that executives kill themselves in shame? But if we're going to discuss that, Chuck, how about the public officials who helped murder a million Iraqis at a cost to Americans of three trillion at least, not to mention dead and wounded troops? Then there are the enablers of the Fed-generated boom and bust. Lots of Beltway candidates, it seems.
