Will Nanny Hour Put an End to Happy Hour?

Lifestyle Planners in Britain are considering banning happy hour discounts at bars and restaurants. “They are considering a ban on a number of practices, including drinking games and speed-drinking events popular at some British pubs.”

I especially note this passage in the article: “health advocates warned that a rise in liver-related deaths among young people may signal a future epidemic.” Indeed, liver problems have become more prevalent throughout the population, but it’s not because of alcohol consumption. That’s due to the foods people eat, along with their sedentary-obesity ways. Also see an article on how high-fructose corn syrup causes fatty liver disease in the latest issue of Life Extension magazine (not online yet).
