Not All the News Is Bad

Writes Jean Franklin:

Thanks for a hopeful start to the day. I agree with everything you said, but as a parent I’m dreading Clinton II because of domestic policy. I fear losing the right to homeschool my 8-year-old daughter. (I would switch to my parish school but it’s basically a public school with tuition.) I also fear national servitude for my daughter and for my 17- and 20-year-old sons (though, the older one may escape it).

Yet, because of voices like those at LRC, I am reminded daily that ours is not the spirit of fear, but of power and love. Despite looming regulation of the Internet, the damage to the State it has caused is now unstoppable. I sense fear waning and tremendous numbers of people waking up and getting to work. (We’re reaching the point where we have nothing to lose.) You’re right – Republicans have been much better as the minority opposition party. As well, our state party has been very cordial and open to the Ron Paul wing, currently it’s greatest source of new growth. Libertarianism will carry the day regardless of the party label because Reality always wins. You and your colleagues are keeping the flame alive and I thank God for your influence. Ora et labora!
