Writes Michael Sansone:
I’m an Austro-Libertarian videogamer with a penchant of reading news. Tonight, I was sitting around, bored, and it came to me: “I wonder what listening to Lew’s podcast would be like while I played the game AudioSurf!”From the AudioSurf website: “Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.”
For those wanting to learn a little bit about minarchy/”Big-L” Libertarianism/Libertarian Anarchy, etc.–and still play a Tetris/racing-type game and rack up a new high score–I couldn’t have wished for a more fun game! Not only did I learn a lot more about Libertarian anarchy (from your newest podcast), I managed to rack up 35,000 points while I did so! Outside of reading news articles, etc., while listening to the podcast, this is a great way to kick back, have fun, learn a little, and compete against others online. The low-tempo nature of a podcast keeps the track advancing at a reasonable speed (but watch out for the show’s outro… it’s a doozy!) and naturally allows for the brain’s puzzle-solving tendencies to coincide with our innate desire to learnlearnlearn!
The game supports MP3s, iTunes M4As, WMAs, CDs and OGGs and can be picked up here. Highly recommended. Take care and keep up the most excellent work.
