1930s Redux

Tom’s article this morning reminds us how much our current political world reflects the 1930s: we appear headed toward a severe depression, while the political alternatives are “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs,” and “Amerika uber alles.” Does this also mean that the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs may soon be playing in a World Series?
