How Congressmen Voted

Writes David Franke:

This is significant. The closer their race for reelection, the more likely the congressmen were to vote AGAINST the bailout–whether Republican or Democrat. And look at the two notes at the end of his post: The Republican congressmen who were retiring, and therefore didn’t have to face the voters in a few weeks, voted overwhelmingly FOR the bailout.

The people rule! (At least once in a while, for a while.)

And here’s an important story you may have missed: Liberal Sen. Dianne Feinstein told McClatchy Newspapers that her office has heard from about 50,000 constituents since Congress began considering a bailout about a week ago–and “only one of a thousand supports it–whatever it is.”

That would be approximately 50 out of 50,000 constituents supporting the bailout! Amazing!
