Writes Casey Khan: "First, I should note that my wife, God bless her, is a Yankees fan. Raised so by her Connecticut family since birth. In true Yankee fashion, when I met her she jokingly said she'd have nothing to do with me if I was either a Red Sox fan or an Al Gore supporter. told her I was a Mets fan and a libertarian. She could handle that, even though she was a big Yankee and McCain supporter in 2000. Today she might be more Anarchocapitalist than me, but is still a Yankees fan. You may be one of her favorite Red Sox fans.
"As for me and my family, they left the fandom of the evil empire back in the 50's when my grandfather and a number of other ushers at Yankee stadium jumped over to the Polo Grounds to work for the much more humane Giants organization. My grandfather and his mates wouldn't tolerate how the Yankees' management treated them. Thus, my family loyalty falls to the next occupant of the Polo Grounds, the Mets.
"Finally, it is amazing how unforgiving secular liturgies like Americanism are. So stringent that you can't move? While we try our best at a very orthodox and reverent Catholic liturgy every Sunday, the toddlers always are up to something. Many a time, the four year old has to go to the bathroom. Never a complaint from the priest. He has the capacity to forgive, something damn yankees find impossible."
